The show, set to be staged at The Alexandra Theatre, is this years’ Stage Experience production, which every year sees more than 100 youngsters from across the Midlands put on a professional show.

Previous Stage Ex alumni include Brummie comedian Joe Lycett, who performed for several years in the scheme, and musical theatre star Liam Doyle, who went on to leading roles in West End hits such as Wicked, Mamma Mia and Legally Blonde.

Fifteen years since its inception in 2003, almost 2000 young performers have taken part in the scheme.

Set in the roaring '20s, Singin' In The Rain tells the story of Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont. They seem to have it all, but behind the scenes things aren't always as they appear on the big screen.

With the new phenomenon of the 'talking pictures' taking Hollywood by storm, Lina's squeaky voice might be the end of her career and with a talented young chorus girl set to steal Don’s heart, things are about to change in Hollywood forever.

The show is filled with unforgettable songs, such as Good Morning, Make Em Laugh, Moses Supposes and the legendary Singin’ In The Rain.

The production comes to Birmingham's Alexandra Theatre from August 21 to 24.
