All Saints Players are gearing up for their return to the stage next month with a performance of thriller 'Deliver Us From Evil'.

Emma Davis, playing Jesse Beer, and Trevor Poulton as Rector Ben Seaton

Showings at All Saints Church on All Saints Way, West Bromwich, are from May 21 to 24 and will begin at 7.30pm.

The production tells the story of new rector of Wychcombe Magna Ben Seaton and his wife Diana's struggles to be accepted by the locals, and takes on many alarming twists before murder strikes in the rectory.

The society, which began 41 years ago, now holds 20 members, and society member Ken Ford, 71, says anyone interested would be very welcome.

He said: "We are struggling to put more productions on because we just don't have enough people. We have seven performing in this one.

"If anyone would like to join they'd be very welcome. They can drop in and get used to the feel of it."

Ken, an electrician who joined the society initially for a week to help out with the lights, has been a member since 1997.

"I love the social aspect of it. We do ten-pin bowling and have parties each year. It's just a great atmosphere," he added.

Tickets for the show are priced at £5.00 and can be bought via committee member Kath on 0121 588 4786 or 0121 357 4248.
