Cast members from the Tab Operatic Society are staging the musical Top Hat at Stourbridge Town Hall this week

The Tab Operatic Society is performing the musical until Saturday.

All of the performances will begin at 7.30pm with a 2pm matinee on Saturday.

The proceeds collected through raffles and on the doors will go to the Stroke Association in memory of society member Mitchell Bastable, who died at the age of 45 in August last year.

Society member Diane Bates, aged 58, said: "Mitchell was a much-loved member of the society so we wanted to dedicate the performance to him."

The show is based on the 1935 film made famous by Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, and tells a love story.

The society has 24 members, all of which will be performing in the all-singing and dancing affair alongside lead pair Michael Astley, aged 24, playing Jerry Travers, and Fleur Petford, 42, playing Dale Tremont.

Diane added: "It's a lovely, vibrant story, and a toe-tapping show.

"Michael, our lead, only joined in September and didn't have a clue how to tap dance, he's done so well."

The Town Hall is expecting around 2,000 people to see the production across the four days.

Tickets can be bought via the Tab Operatic Society's website or by calling 07722 417962.
