The comedy star will bid farewell after her Doreen’s Big Top tour which kicks-off on October 6.

The self-professed ‘lazy cow’, who works with writer David Tristram, said it would enable her to have more time to pursue other projects

“This will be our sixth live show, and we’ve had a wonderful time doing them.

"But planning for the live tours starts virtually a year before – with the writing process, preparing videos, theming, booking venues, marketing, rehearsing and so on.

“So by the time you finally complete the tour itself you then have to start planning the following year’s tour almost immediately.

“This leaves no time for exploring other projects, new avenues, as you get trapped in a cycle of writing, planning, rehearsing, touring, then writing again.

"So we think the time is right to break the mould and try something different,” said Doreen.

She said ending the live tours was a hard decision to make and urged fans to make the most of the final one.

“There’s nothing quite like a live show when it comes to comedy – sharing the moment with a big audience.

The character, played by actress Gill Jordan, also promised that we haven’t seen the last of her but was remaining tight-lipped on her future plans.

"We have got a special new venture which we intend to launch very soon – so folk haven’t heard the last of me.

"I can’t say what it is yet, but it will be interesting to see how it develops, as it potentially involves the general public and community, talented local artistes and businesses all bundled into one project – a little eco system of our own making,” she said.

Doreen is promising plenty of laughs with her final live tour and said it would be a ‘fitting finale’.

The show starts touring on October 6, travelling to Rugeley, Stafford, Telford, Cannock, Birmingham, Worcester, Wolverhampton, Brierley Hill and Redditch.
