The New Zealand comedian sustained a hand injury which has led to the duo - completed by Jemaine Clement - being forced to reschedule the show, which is part of the pair's first UK tour in more than seven years.

The Grammy Award-winning act was set to play Birmingham's Genting Arena this Thursday.

In a post on the Flight Of The Conchords' Twitter, Bret said: “Unfortunately I’ve broken two bones in my hand today in a very rock ‘n’ roll injury - falling down some stairs.

"The doctors have informed me that I won’t be able to perform for several weeks.

"I’m sorry not to be able to do these upcoming shows but I’m looking forward to coming back and finishing the tour when I have two fully functioning hands."

Ticket holders will be contacted about the rescheduling of dates.
