The show, based on the Hollywood blockbuster movie, is coming to Birmingham's Genting Arena this December.

Iconic musician and heart-throb actor David Essex will star as Buddy the Elf's father.

He will be joined by pop star Martine McCutcheon as Buddy's girlfriend Jovie, and Coronation Street Tam Ryan as Buddy.

The cast will feature a line-up of more than 70 performers including children from Birmingham stage school Pauline Quirke Academy.

Adapted from a theatre stage performance to an arena show, the production will feature an original score, as well as special effects including a giant sleigh that flies across the venue, an indoor snow blizzard, giant screens and live ice skating.

The show is being produced by WBP Ltd, the production company behind the arena version of Peter Pan, which ran at Arena Birmingham last year.

Elf: A Christmas Spectacular is coming to Birmingham's Genting Arena from December 20 to 24.
