A sleigh was pulled around the streets of Featherstone, near Wolverhampton.

The sleigh was pulled down as many roads as it was possible to do in the village, with children and families coming out onto their drives to wave to Santa.

It was the brainchild of Isla Harvey, who said she wanted to do something to help people around the village to enjoy the festive season.

She said: “Myself and my family do a lot of fundraising around the village, usually for Help for Heroes, but we weren’t able to do anything this for obvious reasons.

"I felt bad that the children wouldn’t get to see Santa, so we got together as a family and decided we’d bring Santa to the village instead.”

The family also dressed up, with Santa, Mrs Claus, two elves, a reindeer, a snowman and a Christmas tree all taking part.

The procession around the village was set up to include social distancing and ensure people didn’t go any closer than two metres from the sleigh.

Mrs Harvey said: “Just going around was wonderful as we had the snow machine blowing and Christmas music playing.

“It was great to see the children smiling on the street and families enjoying being part of the festive fun.

“We couldn’t throw out any presents or have the children come too close to the sleigh, but we still made it work and people still had a good time.”
