The books by Rachel Brown, 47, of Lichfield, will teach children about the ancient art of unblocking chakras.

There are said to be seven chakras in the human body which are focal points of energy.

When these become blocked, it is believed this can affect people's emotions and wellbeing.

Each of Ms Brown's books will focus on one chakra and will centre around a "chakra monster", she said.

Ms Brown, who has been a holistic therapist for three years, said: "I'm writing a book for each of the seven main chakras.

"Children are really struggling with their emotions at the moment.

"I want to be able to help them with tips and tricks, like a toolbox really, to help them manage their emotions, build confidence, self belief and positivity; through fun, engaging, holistic methods."

The chakra monsters will teach children how to look after themselves and improve their so-called chakra system.

The first book, called Bixbite - The Root Chakra Monster, is available to buy as paperback on Amazon for £6.99.

Ms Brown plans to release her next book early next year and complete the series by late 2021.

Illustrations have been provided by an artist called Lauren-Eden Penn whose work Ms Brown described as "amazing".

Ms Brown's first book focuses on the root chakra, which is the lowest focal point, said to be located at the base of the spine.

The chakras then rise up the centre of the body, in this order: sacral chakra, in the lower abdomen; the solar plexus chakra; heart chakra; throat chakra; third eye chakra, between the eyebrows; and finally the crown chakra, at the top of the head.

Knowledge of these chakras is said to date back to ancient India, between 1500 and 500 BC.
