The concert will take place at Cathedral Hotel courtesy of Lichfield Arts, in partnership with Lichfield Jazz and supported by Jazz WM.

The bands will feature a selection of classic tunes, as well as a few original pieces, on March 18, at 8pm

Ben Macnair, a spokesman for Lichfield Arts, said that as well as supporting professional musicians, it was vital "young jazzers" were supported too.

"The Nick Dewhurst are always a quality act, playing exciting, ground breaking music with joy, verve and skill," he said.

"If you add in the students at Queen Mary’s school, you have a very talented, very big band.

"They will be playing a mixture of originals and jazz standards, so if you would like to hear these talented players, buy your tickets soon."

Doors open for the concert starts at the hotel, in Beacon Street, at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £12 or £10 for Friends of Lichfield Jazz.
