A total of 180 ladies turned out for the Aristocats fashion show, which saw six professional models from the Fashion Show Company perform.

The show raised £3,410.10 for the Bridgnorth mayor’s sports fund and for the Bridgnorth boy scouts.

It was held at Patshull Park Hotel Golf and County Club, Pattingham, on Monday.

Carol Billingsley, owner of Aristocats, said: “It does take some coordinating.

“We regularly get that sort of audience.

“We’re 40 years old next year and we’re hoping to do something different.

“We try to help whatever charities we can and we’ve done many many fashion shows raising many thousands of pounds.

“We can’t do it without our customers and friends – that sort of money can only be raised by people in attendance.”

Ron Whittle, mayor of Bridgnorth, said: “This is the second year they’ve done this fashion show for us.

“She does the fashion show, but any money raised goes to a charity of her choice – and she’s made my mayor’s charity a grateful recipient.

“It was a very good day and it was a full house too.”

Part of the money will be match-funded by Lloyds Bank and Barclays Bank, with the firms pledging £1,500.

The funds will be handed out to boy scouts, with the rest of the funds going to the mayor’s Junior Sports Club Fund.

“I told people what we were doing to try and get kids into sport,” Mr Whittle said.

He added: “It had a very warm welcome from everyone present and it was a good day for us.”
