Cannock singer Georgia Bray's future on The Voice lies with public vote
Singer Georgia Bray's future on ITV's The Voice competition lies in the hands of the public, after she failed to make it through the knockout stages.
The 21-year-old, from Cannock, was not chosen to go through to the live semi-final of the talent competition by her mentor Olly Murs on last night's show.
But she could make a triumphant return to the show if the public votes to give her a lifeline – with the winner out of the 16 singers not being announced till next week.
Georgia was first to perform on Saturday night's show with a rendition of Sam Sparrow's Black and Gold. During rehearsals, Georgia said she was "star struck" as she got to perform in front of singer songwriter Anne-Marie.
Commenting on Georgia's performance, Anne-Marie said: "Her voice is so different to anyone else I heard. She smashed it."

After her performance, Georgia received praise from all four judges Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson, will.i.am and Olly. But when forced to choose between his three final acts, Olly chose to take Molly Hocking through – sending Georgia and Stefan Mahendra home.
Georgia said on the show: "This whole experience has been amazing and I thank Olly so much.
"I feel like I accomplished what I came out to achieve and you know what, this isn't the end."
Taking to social media after the episode aired, she added: "Congratulations Molly Hocking you were amazing! You’re such lovely girl and I’m so glad I have you as a friend. All the best with the semi’s!
"Please guys make sure you vote for me on The Voice UK app! I’m not ready for this dream to end and I promise if you vote for me I’ll come back stronger and continue to surprise you!
"This journey has been absolutely amazing and I’m so grateful I was given this opportunity.
"Thank you Olly Murs for everything you have done for me, I have learnt so much. Fingers crossed I see you soon in the semi's."
Voting for the lifeline opened at the end of the show for the audience to vote for their favourite out of 16 singers – with the result set to be announced on next Saturday's show.
Georgia is up against Ayanam Udoma, Bethzienna Williams, Bukky Oronti, Callum Butterworth, Christina Ellinas, Connie Lamb, Equip To Overcome, Eva Campbell, Gabriel Dryss, Harrisen Larner-Main, Ilianna, Remember Monday, Roger Samuels, Sarah Tucker and Stefan Mahendra.
Voting closed at 11.30pm last night.
