The Stafford Odeon will feature extra leg room and retractable tables

The Odeon Luxe Cinema will include 423 luxury, handmade and fully-reclining seats across six screens when it opens at the Riverside complex at the end of November.

New images show how film fans will have triple the legroom, increased personal space and individual retractable tables.

Viewers will also be able to enjoy state-of-the-art high definition screens and surround sound from 56 speakers across all auditoriums.

The new cinema is creating 45 jobs and general manager Martin Purchase said only enthusiastic local staff would be filling the roles, with each recruit benefitting from full Odeon training.

“We are thrilled that Stafford will be home to the first brand new Odeon Luxe and can’t wait to share our passion for cinema with the local community," Mr Purchase said.

“We’re putting a great deal of effort into hiring passionate and enthusiastic local people to join our team to ensure we deliver the exceptional customer service expected by our guests.

"It’s great to be a part of such an exciting project and we can’t wait to open our doors to local residents to enjoy the very best cinema experience with us.”

The cinema - originally planned to include 800 seats - has a state-of-the-art iSense screen which, measuring at 15m x 6.2m, is taller than a double-decker bus.

It is curved to maximise light reflection, packing Dolby ATMOS 3D sound and 4K digital projectors that deliver almost nine million pixels for an ultra-high definition picture.

And popcorn and soft drinks won't be the only refreshments available, with Oscar’s Bar serving a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and coffee available from the Costa Coffee station.

Meanwhile the Dolby Fidelio Wireless system offers audio description and other options across all screens for guest with visual or hearing impairment.

Construction of the cinema started in March and was due to be completed in June but there were delays due to issues with utility pipes and foundations.

Three-screen Stafford Cinema, on nearby Newport Road, closed at the end of last year but was rescued by an independent firm and re-opened in the summer.

The Odeon is now due to open in time for the festive season and will show the films such as Ralph Breaks The Internet Creed II and Mary Poppins Returns.

A recruitment open day will take place at The Bear in Greengate Street on Saturday from 10am to 4pm.
