Susan Jackson is leading a team with her husband Tim, as they take on the Monte Carlo or Bust rally next month, raising money for the Army Cadet Force Centre in Rugeley.

The event, that challenges teams to renovate an old car for less than £500, will see Susan and Tim driving through France, Switzerland, and Italy before finishing in Monaco, whilst completing numerous challenges on the way.

The Army Cadets are a group close to Susan's heart. She said: "My family has been involved with the cadets before and this is about paying back to the group and to the kids who are less well off.

"I've been involved in a number of clubs and charities in Rugeley and every single penny of the money we raise will go to the cadets.

"I've had a lot of support from the military and people involved with them and it's great to be able to pay back to the local cadets.

The husband and wife duo will be driving an old Mazda MX5 Soft Top that has had a new roof and clutch fitted.

"I'm really looking forward to it. Hopefully the car will be ok, we've tested it on a long drive already and it worked fine," Susan added.
