Staffs Fest warm up party held for first time ever

People can get ready for the big Staffs Fest music weekend early with a pre-event party being held this month for the first time ever.

Stafford FM and Staffs Fest are hosting the party on April 14 where The Shine from Penkridge will be performing as the headline act after The Rockdogs pulled out due to unforeseen circumstances.

The event comes ahead of Staffs Fest, which is in its fourth year and will be held from May 25 to 27.

Support acts for the warm up party include Callum Mountford, Emily Lockett, Toasted Bones with Stafford FM Roadshow with disco playing old school tunes.

Lorraine Conkey the organiser of Staff Fest and the warm up party said: “This night out is a great way to see some of the acts that will be performing at Staffs Fest the three day festival on the Spring Bank Holiday at Lower Drayton Farm.

"Although the rock, reggae, soul and blues festival will be in its fourth year this year this is the first time we are having a warm up event at The White Eagle Club, everyone is welcome to come along but I advise everyone to buy their tickets well in advance is there is a limit to the amount sale. Along with the fabulous artists, performing on the night Stafford FM will be hosting the evening and a fantastic raffle will take place with prizes from local businesses.

"At Staffs Fest this year we are introducing an acoustic marquee this year Soul All Dayer eight DJs playing vinyl throughout the day we also have a new element, ‘Reggae Rockz’ with some of Birmingham’s top reggae artists including members of Musical Youth and Steel Pulse taking part, the show is produced by Basil Gabbidon and is a celebration the journey of reggae music.”

Doors open at 7.30pm and the event will be on until 1pm and will take place at The White Eagle Club, Riverway, Stafford.

Staffs Fest will follow in May where up-and-coming bands will perform along with some golden oldies, and Staffs Fest favourites. Music ranges from rock and blues to reggae, soul and acoustic music.
