Sunnyside Open Day and Fun Dog show took place on Saturday, August 19 with organisers looking to raise from £4,000 to £6,000.

The day was a chance for the families who had adopted dogs from the Coven-based home to return to the place they first met their pets.

Dozens of stalls selling doggy icecream and other treats were on offer, and a special dog show saw canines compete for prestigious titles including 'Prettiest Female', 'Best Trick' as well as 'Mega Mutts' and 'Tiny Tots'.

The event was hosted by Signal 107's Neil Jackson, with director of Ancol Pet Products, Sarah Lane, judging the dog show.

Speaking of the event, fundraising co-ordinator, Jilly Rivers said: "It was absolutely wonderful to see the dogs come back and see us.

"They remembered us, with the Canine Carers getting quite emotional to see the dogs they had cared for come back with tails wagging.

"We would just like to thank everyone that came and supported us."
