Stacey Dooley has announced a new show after winning Strictly Come Dancing – hosting a BBC make-up competition.

The documentary-maker, 31, will front Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star, for BBC Three.

Val Garland, global make-up director for L’Oreal Paris, and Dominic Skinner, global senior artist for MAC, will judge the competition, which will air later this year.

Dooley lifted the glitterball with dance partner Kevin Clifton on last year’s series of Strictly.

The Stacey Dooley Investigates star said: “I’m delighted to be involved with Glow Up. The make-up artists are so impressive and talented and Val and Dominic were a scream to work with. Can’t wait to show you all it!”

The show, in which 10 contestants live and work together while competing to win a contract assisting top make-up artists, was announced earlier last year.

Garland, who has worked with Kate Moss, Kendall Jenner, Lady Gaga and Alexander McQueen, said the winner “has to have an incredible attitude, be able to feel comfortable in any situation and deliver”.

But she warned: “Don’t give me diva, don’t give me attitude, don’t try to sell me something that I don’t believe in.”

Skinner, who has a background in beauty and bodypainting across music, TV, film, theatre and ballet, said: “Be it subtle and enhancing or bold and expressive, make-up has the power to make you feel like ‘the you’ you’ve always known you were.”
