Eminem makes references to Donald Trump and Harvey Weinstein while dissing a number of rappers on his new album Kamikaze.

The rapper dropped the record by surprise, announcing it on Twitter on Thursday night.

Along with a link to the music, Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, wrote: “Tried not 2 overthink this 1… enjoy.”

Fans have spotted a number of mentions throughout the record, some of which refer to negative criticism Eminem received over his previous album Revival, and an apparent reference to the US president.

In the track The Ringer, Eminem raps about “Agent Orange” who “just sent the Secret Service / To meet in person to see if I really think of hurtin’ him / Or ask if I’m linked to terrorists.”

The lyric is thought to be a reference to the rapper’s freestyle rap at the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards, The Storm, in which he attacked the president about immigration, white supremacy, his row with the National Football League (NFL), gun control, the environment, his plans for a wall on the Mexican border and corruption.

The musician had described Mr Trump as “a kamikaze that’ll probably cause a nuclear holocaust” in The Storm.

The Ringer, which opens the album, also sees the 45-year-old attack rivals including Lil Yachty.

“I can see why people like Lil Yachty, but not me though,” he raps.

Eminem also says that rappers Lil Pump and Lil Xan “imitate Lil Wayne”, a frequent collaborator of his.

Not Alike includes a reference to movie mogul Weinstein, who is facing sexual assault charges after a number of allegations were made against him, which he denies.

Eminem raps about Weinstein and his “bathrobe hanging open”.

Other artists who make the cut are Tyler, The Creator, who Eminem appears to attack with a homophobic slur, and rapper Joe Budden, who criticised Revival.

Not Alike includes a reference to rapper Machine Gun Kelly, who once tweeted about Eminem’s daughter Hailie being attractive when she was aged 16.

A short track called Paul – Skit, is simply a voicemail message from Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg, who shares his concern about the number of people being berated throughout Kamikaze.

He adds: “I don’t know if that’s really a great idea.”

Kamikaze features 13 tracks including a song titled Venom, which is from the upcoming superhero movie starring Tom Hardy.

It has guest appearances from Jessie Reyes, Joyner Lucas and Royce Da 5’9”, as well as Rosenberg.

The artwork consists of the tail of a military plane, reminiscent of the cover of the Beastie Boys’ 1986 album Licenced To Ill.

The Apple Music album notes said: “Shady punches back, and he’s naming names.”

Eminem’s previous studio album, Revival, was released in December 2017 and topped the charts in the UK.
