Stormzy has apologised to Global radio after he thanked a rival station when collecting a prize at the radio group’s awards night.

The Brit-award winning rapper took home the best RnB, hip-hop or grime accolade at the ceremony on Thursday night, but made a curious acceptance speech.

He told the crowd: “Big up Magic FM” – the station owned by Global’s competitor Bauer Media.

Realising his mistake Friday morning, the south-London musician wrote on Twitter: “Sarry, sarry, sarry”, adding “big up Global & the whole Capital family for the award”.

Stormzy’s feature on Little Mix Power also collected a prize at the ceremony for best song as the girl group were the big winners.

They also collected best group and best British artist or group at inaugural Global Awards at London’s Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith.
