The former Unsigned page star will be at the Mount Pleasant venue on May 29, ably supported by his band The Revolt - while other local talents will provide the warm-ups.

Stourbridge's Jess Silk opens the night before Gooderham/Neades and The New Ruffians also take to the stage.

"With the acts we've got on it's really going to be a small festival theme as we are all breaking into the festival circuit - with varying degrees of success," Sam said.

"I'm definitely looking forward to it. I don't get the band together very often so I'm looking forward to that, and the opportunity to play at The Robin 2 is one I can't pass up either.

"Plus, it will be the first time I've been in since the new owners took over, so I'm looking forward to seeing what they've done with the place.

"I'm also really looking forward to watching the other acts on the bill. They are all awesome, and it's going to be a really good night."

Tickets for the show are £5 in advance or £6 on the door. They can be bought here.
