The outdoor event will take place at Himley Hall and Park on Black Country Day - Sunday, July 14 - with performances from tribute bands to Oasis, Little Mix, Spice Girls and Queen.

But organisers have ensured there is a local flavour to the day's musical entertainment - with performances from artists from the Black Country.

Gornal-based band The Empty Can - who wrote the Black Country Anthem - will perform on the main stage. They will be joined by singer songwriters Jess Silk and Alex Ohm and ukulele player Joe James Thomas.

The festival runs between 12pm noon and 7pm and it will also include a comedy tent, as well as a fun fair, face painting, virtual reality and gaming zones.

Alan Lunt, Dudley Council's strategic director for place and deputy chief executive, said: "The Black Country Musicom promises to be a fantastic event and we hope the sun will be shining and that thousands come along for a great family day out.

"We felt it was important, with the festival being on Black Country Day, that it had a strong local flavour and so we are delighted to be giving some great Black Country acts the opportunity to perform on the big stage."

Early bird tickets offering savings of up to 40 per cent are available for the festival until the end of May. They cost £9 for adults and £5 for children aged five to 15 years old, with youngsters under five attending for free.
