Simon and Steve Nelson worked alongside Oscar-nominated actress Elizabeth McGovern as her backing band for her self-penned music.

The duo began their career in 1976 when they left Stafford for Amsterdam, and in 1978 they passed an audition to work in Bermuda on a 12 month contract.

Returning to the UK in the 80’s, the Nelson’s worked the London wine bar circuit before Simon headed off for an eighteen month stint in Australia. Steve continued to work as a solo and both brothers continued to write.

In the early 90’s they signed a deal with Irish record label Round Tower and wrote their debut album Hometown.

They have released a further three albums, including 2018 release Migrant Tales.

The Nelson Brothers will play Stafford Gatehouse Theatre on May 4.
