The Wombats to play Birmingham

Indie rockers The Wombats will bring their biggest ever UK tour to Birmingham next year.

The announcement comes after the release of the trio's fourth album, Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, which features singles such as Lemon to a Knife Fight, Turn, Cheetah Tongue and Black Flamingo.

The Liverpool group formed in 2003, and are best known for hit singles such as Kill the Director, Give Me a Try, Moving to New York and Let's Dance to Joy Division.

They have sold more than one million records worldwide, and have been nominated for a number of accolades, as well as winning the 2008 NME Award for Best Dancefloor Filler.

The Wombats will play Birmingham's O2 Academy on January 31.
