Get Stoned Rolling Stones Tribute
Rolling Stones fans should Come On down to Fletchers Bar on King's Heath's York Road on Sunday 11 March where Satisfaction is guaranteed as local tribute band Get Stoned are welcomed back for a full show after their sensational short set at the same bar last September.
Just a few months after releasing their first single "Come On" in 1963 The Rolling Stones played one of their first ever gigs outside London and their first ever in Birmingham at King's Heath's old burnt down Ritz Ballroom directly opposite Fletchers Bar. Joining Brian, Mick and Keith on the tiny stage were Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts. The day after they returned to London to play at the Great Pop Prom at the Royal Albert Hall! And when they returned to Birmingham the following year they played the much larger venues of the Hippodrome and the Town Hall. They then went onto become the world's greatest Rock and Roll Band in the world selling over 200 million albums.
Get Stoned are a great local tribute band to the world's greatest rock 'n' roll band. Expect to hear most of The Rolling Stones greatest hits including Not Fade Away, Brown Sugar and Satisfaction. Get Stoned closed King's Heath Walk Of Fame's annual RollKings Stones Fest last September. They went down a storm so have been invited back for a full show.
Don't leave your Mother Standing in the Shadows on Mother's Day. Bring the whole family along to sing, dance and generally have fun! It's only rock'n'roll and you'll like it!".
Tickets for the afternoon show that starts at 3 p.m. cost just £5 from the Kitchen Garden Cafe on York Road opposite the side entrance to the Hare & Hounds or from here.
