The Tipton Road-based attraction will open its doors for Easter-themed activities between Saturday, April 4, and Sunday, April 19, between 10am and 5pm.

Families can explore the museum's shops and houses, as costumed characters ask visitors for a helping hand preparing for the much-awaited Easter parade.

An activity trail will take place around the historic village, with characters taking part in craft activities – from decorating eggs, to adding the finishing touches to seasonal treats.

The curious character Pace Egger will also explore the museum site, getting visitors into the Easter spirit.

Tom Dipple, the Black Country Museum's programme developer, said: "This year we really want to focus on traditional Easter customs and provide lots of opportunities for visitors to get involved and get hands-on.”

Families can pop down to the cobbled street and try their hand at some traditional street games – including the egg-cellent egg and sppon race.

Traditional Easter baking treats will also be on offer, including hot cross buns and simnel cake.
