The bakery on Market Street in the city centre is still closed for walk-in customers but is now open for people who have pre-ordered online.

The branch next to Marks & Spencer has been closed since the lockdown restrictions were implemented in March and stayed closed even when others in the city centre reopened last month.

But now pasty lovers can use the Greggs website or Just Eat to choose their time slot and food from the reduced menu. Greggs will then send an email when the order is ready for collection.

Once customers arrive at the shop, Greggs’ new operational measures will be implemented to help keep customers and colleagues safe.

These measures include only one adult being permitted instore to collect an order (children can accompany parents) and floor markings being in place to ensure a safe social distance is maintained.

Orders can also be delivered via Just Eat.

The Market Street branch the only Wolverhampton store currently offering click and collect, but the shops in the Mander Centre, Wulfrun Centre and on Dudley Street are open for walk-in orders.

A Greggs spokesman said: “We’re thrilled to introduce our click and collect service in Wolverhampton and along with the other shops we’ve reopened across the country and our partnership with Just Eat, we’re pleased to help bring a little taste of normal back to our local communities."
