The Sedgley Charity Beer Festival on Friday, September 27 and Saturday, September 28 first took place in 2013 and, over the years, has won acclaim from across the region for the quality of drinks and full live music programme.

The 2019 festival will include an extended Gin and Beer bar and two more live acts have been added to the music line-up, meaning six bands in total will perform over the weekend.

Acts that will be performing during the festival include seven-piece Irish band, Damn the Weather, who will be performing Irish songs by the Dubliners, the Clancy's and the Pogues, to name by a few and Starving Dogs, who will reel out the classic "Good Time Boogie" and a wealth of rock favourites from Status Quo and the like.

The festival will be hosted by 1st Sedgley Scout Group, with two marquees and three stages erected on their grounds to accommodate the hundreds of attendees expected and a group of Scout Group volunteers manning the bars.

The entrance fee to the festival is £10, which includes a festival souvenir glass and a choice of local favourite ales, alongside some specially selected beers.

All proceeds raised from the festival will be split between 1st Sedgley Scout Group, Children in Need and other local charities.

Festival Chairman Saul Burton was full of enthusiasm for the upcoming festivities.

He said: "The charity festival just keeps going from strength to strength. Our festival team choose such great ales, ciders and top-quality live music that people just love it.

"It’s such a superb community atmosphere, where locals meet and raise a glass for charity”

The festival starts at 5pm on Friday, September 27 at Jubilee Hall, Ladies Walk, Sedgley, with the Saturday session starting at 12pm.
