The Sedgley Charity Beer Festival, which has won acclaim from across the Black Country, will be held on Friday and Saturday (September 28 and September 29) at Jubilee Hall in Sedgley.

The festival is organised by Sedgley Scout Group, who elect two marques and stages to accommodate bands, drinks and hundreds which are expected to attend over the weekend.

Money raised from the festival will be used to benefit the scout group, Children in Need and charities in the area.

The scouts will use their share to complete work on a new roof and equipment.

This year, a new gin tent and bar will be added to the festival line-up which boasts 36 of England's finest ales, 10 ciders and a selection of wine.

Saul Burton, chairman of the scout group, said: “The charity festival just keeps going from strength to strength.

"Our festival team choose such great ales, ciders and top-quality live music that people just love it.

"Adding a Gin Bar to this year event is sure to add to the superb atmosphere where folk meet folk and raise a glass for charity.”

More than 5,000 drinks were consumed in 17 hours at last year's event.

Tickets cost £10, including £8 of drinks, a souvenir festival glass and live music and are available on the gate.

Bands including Ben and Alun Davies, Damn the Weather, the Sedgley Ukulele Strummers, the Empty Can Band and Starving Dogs will all perform at the festival.

Gold sponsor ND Walters Carpets and Flooring and Silver sponsor Midlands Business Recovery are supporting the event along with Willows Dental and Implant Centre, which is sponsoring the bands.
