Japanese rockers King Brothers are coming to Birmingham to promote their new record - Wasteland - which marks their 20th anniversary.

King Brothers are coming back to the UK

The four-piece released Wasteland last month and will be playing tracks both from it and their full back catalogue when they arrive at King's Heath's Hare & Hounds on October 24.

The show is alongside their Brummie touring partners Black Mekon.

Wasteland was the band's first release in eight years and came out on Hound Gawd Records

King Brothers are Keizo Matsuo on guitar, harp and vocals, Masafumi 'Marya' Koyama on guitar and Zony on drums. They came together in 1997 and proved one of Japan’s most durable rock outfits, backing the likes of Jon Spencer, the White Stripes and Strokes in their tours of the country.

This two-guitar and drums trio cramps toxic punk rock, barbed-wire blues and fuzzed-out noise into their sound.

A spokesperson for the band said: "Taking to the stage dressed in what have become their trademark black and white suits, the three-piece who hail from Nishinomiya City amaze audiences with their insanely energetic stage act

"Within a matter of seconds all hell breaks loose as they burst into life; a cacophony of guitars, vocals and drums smashing into the fans at full tilt. The King Brothers are known as the most dangerous act in Japan, having had themselves banned from nearly every club in Osaka for destroying property."

Tickets for the Hare & Hounds gig, which will hopefully remain damage-free, are available here.
