Marco Pierre White to close Birmingham hotel restaurant
Marco Pierre White is set to close one of his popular Midlands restaurants.
The English Chophouse restaurant at Birmingham's Hotel La Tour will shut over the weekend.
It comes as the four-star hotel has been sold to the Dublin-based Dalata Hotel Group who plan to rebrand it as the Clayton Hotel.
The restaurant served steaks and English classics among other dishes and pictures of Marco Pierre White himself featured throughout.
Owners of the Clayton Hotel Birmingham are set to introduce the hotel's own restaurant brand instead of the Chophouse on October 1.
English Chophouse was the celebrity chef's second Birmingham restaurant to land after the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar and Grill.
The popular branch, situated on the 25th floor of The Cube, opened in 2011.
The closure comes after Mr White spoke at his Steakhouse at The Cube to launch a new wine collection.
He unveiled three wines created by Jean-Luc Colombo which are exclusively available in his restaurants.
