Eastenders star Aaron Sidwell among cast to appear in Wicked coming to Birmingham

Eastenders star Aaron Sidwell be among those set to star in Wicked - coming to Birmingham Hippodrome next year.

Wicked is the untold story of the Witches of Oz, and a Broadway musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz. It is based on the book by Winnie Holzman.

It is the eighth longest-running Broadway show of all time.

In addition to TV star Aaron, who played Steven Beale in BBC's Eastenders, those due to appear in the stage show include Amy Ross as Elphaba and Helen Woolf as Glinda.

Amy is best known for her recent appearance as Nicola in the West End run of musical Kinky Boots.

Helen, meanwhile, has most recently appeared in the London production of Wicked and was also part of the original 2013 UK and Ireland tour company.

They will be joined by fellow cast members Kim Ismay (Madame Morrible), Emily Shaw (Nessarose) and Iddon Jones (Boq).

Also appearing will be Nikki Bentley (Standby for Elphaba), Charli Baptie, Jason Broderick, Samantha Brown, Hannah Cadec, Grace Chapman, James Davies-Williams, Howard Ellis, Amy Goodwin, Daniel James Greenaway, Jack Harrison-Cooper, Charlie Karlsen, Nicole Lupino, Stuart MacIver, Stacey McGuire, Sara Morley, Emily Olive Boyd, Georgia Rae Briggs, Paul Saunders, James Titchener, Helen Walsh, Amy Webb, Luke Woollaston and Benjamin Yates.

Wicked returns to the Birmingham Hippodrome for four weeks from April 4 to 29, 2018.
