The 'golden buzzer' comedian will play the Midland shows as part of his 31-date What The African Said tour.

The Malawian-born star has gathered more than 8million Facebook views and 9million on YouTube.

Daliso has also just been confirmed for his own Radio 4 series entitled Daliso Chaponda: Citizen Of Nowhere.

Speaking ahead of the shows, Daliso said: "Laughter is how I cope with pain. I have seen and experienced some horrible things but laughter helped me cope.

"Telling jokes is repaying the favor. This show is my thanks to the laughter."

The stand-up comic has lived in countries where the press is not allowed to criticize the government - and has been both a journalist and a newsreader.

Daliso' father was a refugee who became a diplomat - meaning their family frequently moved from country to country.

The star is performing at The Walker Theatre in Shrewsbury on March 3, Birmingham's MAC on March 9, and The Slade Rooms in Wolverhampton on March 16.
