South Korean superstar rapper G-Dragon to play Birmingham

South Korean rap star G-Dragon will perform for fans in Birmingham later this year.

The star, whose real name in Kwon Ji-yong, is a 28-year-old rapper, record producer and fashion icon.

He is best known for songs such as Good Boy, Crooked, Heartbreakter and Crayon.

The star rose to fame in the mid noughties as one of two rappers in South Korean boy band Big Bang, who became one of the best-selling digital groups of all time in Asia and one of the best-selling boy bands in the world.

G-Dragon debuted as a solo artist with the release of Heartbreaker in 2009. The album was a commercial success and earned the Mnet Asian Music Awards for Album of the Year, while the single of the same name became a number-one hit.

He will play the Genting Arena as part of a world tour.

The rapper will play The NEC venue on September 23.

Tickets to the show go on sale this Friday at 10am.
