Take That star Gary Barlow will play Birmingham's Symphony Hall this weekend.

This will be the first performance that the pop icon has done at the venue in 20 years.

Since forming in 1989 Take That have won eight BRIT awards, sold over 45 million records and over eight million concert tickets.

Gary is one of Britain’s most successful songwriters, having written 14 Number One singles as well as being a six-time recipient of an Ivor Novello Award.

Benjamin Zephaniah - Town Hall, Birmingham

Benjamin Zephaniah

Birmingham poet Benjamin Zephaniah will bring his new Life and Rhymes show to the city on Friday.

During the show he will explain how he fought injustice and discrimination to lead a remarkable life, while sharing a selection of favourite stories and poems.

Signed copies of The Life and Rhymes of Benjamin Zephaniah will be available after the show.

Good Food Show - NEC, Birmingham

Celebrate summer as the BBC Good Food Show and BBC Gardeners’ World Live heads back to Birmingham’s NEC.

With one ticket, visitors will gain entry to both events, which will attract over 400 exhibitors from the culinary and horticultural world, as well as A-list gardeners and chefs.

Stars that will be present at the event include the likes of Mary Berry, Paul Hollywood, The Hairy Bikers, Tom Kerridge, Michel Roux Jr and more.

Model aircraft enthusiasts from all the over the UK and Europe will take to the skies to demonstrate their flying skills at Weston Park.

There will be the Battle of Britain pyrotechnic display and the Swift Glider display team will perform their mid-air acrobatics.

Kids can get hands on in free model building workshops and there is everything you need to create your own model aircraft at the mega swap meet and trade stands.

The Weston Park Steam Gala Weekend will also be taking place on Saturday and Sunday, where four guest steam engines will be taking visitors on rides on the Miniature Railway.

Supergroup Hollywood Vampires is made up of rock legends Alice Cooper and Aerosmith's Joe Perry, plus Hollywood idol Johnny Depp.

The story of the Hollywood Vampires began in the 1970s on the Sunset Strip at the Rainbow Bar and Grill’s upstairs bar. It was a gathering place for the rock stars living in or passing through Los Angeles.

The trio will be joined at this Birmingham show by support acts The Darkness and The Damned.

Comedy star Joel Dommett is set to wow fans in Brierley Hill.

The 32-year-old, who gained a legion of female fans after flashing his abs during the show, also co-hosted ITV2’s I’m A Celebrity Extra Camp last year and has appeared on a host of other TV shows.

He will be supported by two acts who are regular headliners on the UK comedy circuit in their own right – musical comedian Rob Deering and character act Troy Hawke.

Hosting will be regular resident compere Wayne Beese, from Dudley, who also promotes the regular shows.
