London comedy legend Michael McIntyre will bring his Big World Tour to Birmingham this weekend.

In the UK, Michael has sold over 1.5 million tickets to date, and continues to sell out arenas around the world.

The star is best known for his appearances on TV shows such as Live at the Apollo, Mock the Week, 8 out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You and more.

Michael McIntyre will appear at Arena Birmingham from May 10 to May 13.

Liza Pulman sings Streisand - Stafford Gatehouse Theatre

Fascinating Aida's Liza Pulman will pay homage to the music of Barbra Streisand in her new show heading to Stafford Gatehouse Theatre.

Accompanied by a life band, the singer and comedienne will sing a variety of the music icon's hit songs such as The Way We Were, Second Hand Rose, You Don't Bring Me Flowers and People.

Sister Act - Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton

Final year University of Wolverhampton Musical Theatre students are set to perform feel-good musical Sister Act this weekend.

Based on the 1922 film starring Whoopi Goldberg, Sister act follows the story of Delores Van Cartier, who flees to a convent after witnessing a murder.

Deloris joins the convents gospel choir, and begins to find a new life for herself.

One Woman Sex in the City

Kerry Ipema is set to bring the characters of Sex and the City to life at Shrewsbury's Theatre Severn.

Created by TJ Dawe, the show will celebrate what made the American comedy drama series so successful.

The Band - Birmingham Hippodrome

Take That musical The Band continues at Birmingham Hippodrome this weekend.

Starring the winners from BBC show Let It Shine, the show follows five women who are reunited by the dream of meeting their favourite band

The comedian became a familiar face as team captain on BBC2 pop quiz Never Mind The Buzzcocks in 1996, which ran for 19 years.

He has since appeared as a regular guest on QI and Alan Davies' As Yet Untitled, and in 2012 returned to television stand-up for the first time since 2000 with an appearance on Live at the Apollo.

Shrewsbury Regatta - Pengwern Boat Club, Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury Regatta

Shrewsbury Regatta returns to Pengwern Boat Club this weekend.

The Regatta is one of the oldest events in the rowing calendar, having first been held in 1871.

There will be races for 8's, 4's and pairs as well as quad, double and single sculling boats. Competitors will include men, women, juniors and veterans.

Shrewsbury Regatta will also take place on Sunday, May 13, 2018.

Telford Balloon and Kite Fiesta - Telford Town Park

Hot air balloon

Telford's night skies will be illuminated with flying objects over the weekend to celebrate Telford's 50th birthday.

Lindstrand Technologies will be bringing a variety of hot air balloons that will be floating above heads at intervals throughout the day as well as being tethered in the QE11 arena.

The flights will be followed by illuminating balloons bouncing to music on the Saturday evening.

Telford Balloon and Kite Fiesta will also take part on May 13.

BBC Young Musician Grand Final - Symphony Hall, Birmingham

BBC Music Young Musician 2018

They have made it through four competitive rounds, and now three talented young musicians will each perform a full concerto in front of television cameras and a distinguished panel of judges to become BBC Music Young Musician 2018.

This year’s finalists will perform with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Mark Wigglesworth.

There will also be a performance by the 2016 winner, cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason.
