Michelle Devattista, aka Mary of the musings, helps to promote local charities by doing comedy sketches online in return for donations.

In her latest venture, she is helping Brockswood Animal Sanctuary in Sedgley who recently launched an appeal for funds to help boost security after five of its animals were stolen during a break-in in May.

Staff arrived at the sanctuary to find two turkeys and three sheep had been stolen overnight. It is feared that they were taken for food.

Supporters urged the sanctuary in Catholic Lane to open an online fundraising page so that they could help them improve security.

So far more than £3,000 has been raised on the JustGiving page.

When Michelle heard about the break-in she wanted to do something to help staff.

Mary of the musings is appealing for support for Brockswood Animal Sanctuary

She said: "When I heard about the break in it broke my heart.

"It is a sanctuary, the animals are there to rest. I thought I have got to do something for them.

"I am trying to promote Brockswood and give them as much publicity as possible and help them get as many donations as possible.

"They need financial support as well as building materials.

"I hope that the local people who follow my page will help support them."

Brockswood Animal Sanctuary is reopening on Saturday, July 4 for advance bookings in compliance with Government guidelines.

Mary of the Musings will be heading down after hours to film a sketch at the site which will be posted to her Facebook page.
