Families, cyclists and joggers have been enjoying the 43 acres of parkland at Bantock Park as the dry weather continues.

People could be spotted enjoying the spring sunshine in the city park while adhering to social distancing rules, ensuring they remain two metres apart.

Many visitors also could be seen taking extra precautions, wearing face coverings, masks and protective gloves.

More Covid-19 coverage:

The park reopened in March in light of Government announcements, however social distancing restrictions remained in place to keep visitors and staff safe on site.

Although the grounds are open to visitors, the Edwardian house and onsite cafe currently remain closed.

Following the recent announcement from Boris Johnson, people in England can now drive to outdoor spaces, irrespective of distance, as part of the government’s relaxation of lockdown measures.

This has seen parks across the Black Country begin to attract more visitors.

Due to lockdown measures, a number of the park's upcoming programme of events have been postponed until further notice.

Organisers are hoping to reschedule as many of the events as possible and anyone who has purchased tickets will be refunded.

Wolverhampton Council is encouraging people to keep up to date with the park's activities on its social media channels, including ways to stay active, creative and updates on the work of staff at the park.
