Gazebo Theatre in Education's A Winter Wonderland has created a 'magical' interactive experience which families, schools and carers can visit for free.

The theme of the event is to support the mental health and well-being of parents and young people through Christmas, which was held on December 13 between 1pm and 2pm at Bilston Town Hall.

The Mayor and Mayoress from Wolverhampton visited the opening.

CEO of Gazebo, Pamela Cole-Hudson, said: "Essentially, it's really exciting because it's community focused.

"It's for families to enjoy the spirit of Christmas in the town hall.

"The project has been co-designed by 10 to 16 year olds and also with young adults.

"The feedback has been positive.

"We're all struggling right now and this area, Bilston, is a priority area where people are struggling. People want to give their kids a lovely time which this does without breaking the back."

Visitors will be escorted through the wonderland by Santa's elves, whilst the iconic figure is 'busy sorting many things out' for the Christmas period.

The elves will escort people through the rooms to teach people skills and to teach youngsters Christmas isn't always about giving or receiving gifts.

The company, situated in Bilston, is one of the longest running Theatre In Education (TIE) companies in the country.
