Pair snap up first cinema tickets at new Stafford ODEON - with video

Movie fans got their first glimpse of a multi-million cinema as it opened its doors to the public for the first time.

Customers filed through the doors at the ODEON in Stafford following its much-anticipated launch.

The £6.5 million cinema opened on Wednesday after taking shape in the town throughout the year. The first customers appeared to be impressed with what they saw. The new cinema is equipped with modern, state-of-the-art facilities.

Hundreds of movie fans were expected to flock through the doors over the weekend to see the latest blockbusters including Ralph Breaks The Internet, Creed II and Mary Poppins Returns.

There was a touch of glitz and glamour as a special launch night was held on Tuesday where the Mayor and Mayoress of Stafford cut the ribbon officially marking its opening.

The ODEON boasts 423 reclining seats and six huge screens along with one iSense screen measuring at 15mx6.2m which is taller than a double-decker bus.
