Georgia Steel and Niall Aslam turned out for intu Merry Hill's Student Night, with more than 40 retailers offering exclusive student discounts for one night only.

The pair, who were a couple on the show, interacted with fans and took photographs with them.

Ron Howard and Natalie Mew from Capital FM, which hosted the event, took to the stage along with the stars for live music, entertainment and games – including a quiz.

Students were able to get 20 per cent at stores including Subway, McDonald's, Five Guys and Hotel Chocolat.

Robert Pickersgill, marketing manager at intu Merry Hill, said: “Our Student Nights are one of the main attractions in our event calendar, attracting thousands of students from across the Midlands each year. Now is the perfect time to stock up on discounted school supplies and update your autumn/winter wardrobe.

“Love Island fans got to see Georgia and Niall in some of their first public appearances since the much-watched contest earlier this summer."

The Love Island stars took to the main stage at the lower mall of the shopping centre near H. Samuel at 7pm.

Georgia Steel, contestant on ITV’s Love Island 2018, said: “Student nights are a great way to get everyone together, meet new people, and get some new clothes to wear to lectures to impress for the new term."
