Zoo gets top TripAdvisor award

Dudley Zoo director Derek Grove said receiving the TripAdvisor 2018 Certificate of Excellence was a 'great boost' and thanked visitors for their positive comments about the 40-acre attraction.

The accolade, which has since been framed and put up near the visitor entrance, reflects consistent high ratings left about the zoo and castle on the TripAdvisor travel website.

Derek said: “We’re always delighted to hear visitors have enjoyed their experience at the zoo and that our continued investment in new enclosures, new species and improved facilities is valued.

“This year we’ve had new play equipment installed, we’ve refurbished our toilet facilities and our new beach has been especially popular, with seating areas giving parents some chill-out time while youngsters enjoy playing in the sand.

“Our latest enclosures have great indoor and outdoor viewing areas which is wonderful for both our animals and visitors.

"Many of our animals, in particular our primates and tigers, look forward to seeing our visitors as much as our visitors enjoy seeing them."

Dudley Zoo boasts a 1,600 strong exotic animal collection, and visitors can also take a tour around the 11th Century Dudley Castle also on site.
