The centre’s new mascot, Marmalade the Mammoth, will make his first appearance at intu Merry Hill tomorrow during a march through the centre accompanied by a band procession.

Shoppers will be able to spot Marmalade at the lower mall near Debenhams from May 27 to June 3.

A marmalade-making factory will be launched to celebrate his arrival on May 31 where families will get the chance to get messy and creative with Marmalade.

Children will be able learn how to make their own fruity preserves and how to use it in baking cookies.

Robert Pickersgill, marketing manager at intu Merry Hill, commented that 'half term is all about spending time together as a family to create fond and loving memories' and that he is keen for Marmalade to be a part of this for families.

“Creating moments of happiness is at the heart of everything we do and we’ve introduced Marmalade and the new family club as another way to bring smiles to people’s faces and provide opportunities for parents to spend quality time with their children,” he said.
