Parking charges at beauty spot Chasewater Country Park have come into force.

Staffordshire County Council made the decision to implement the charges in December and it will see parking cost £1 an hour or £3 a day, while annual passes will be available for £36.

Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet member Mark Winnington said: “Extensive consultation has produced a range of ideas as to how Staffordshire County Council’s countryside estate could be managed and maintained in the future and over the coming months we are proposing to pursue these so that we are able to find the right long-term solution for everyone’s benefit.

“This decision is part of developing and implementing a car parking strategy to ensure that income generating opportunities are maximised within that wider context.”
