Mike Opel and Bally Singh, both from Wolverhampton, have been hosting Saturday Night Side Eye for just over two years and have attracted a loyal following of listeners.

Every episode is recorded in their living room and they create all of the content as well as carrying out the editing and promotion themselves.

Following the podcast’s success they are now presenting The Saturday Morning Show on Wolverhampton-based Gorgeous FM which features discussions on the week’s news as well as new music and classic anthems.

Bally, 32, said: “Gorgeous FM, recently set up in the city centre, allows new and upcoming media talents like ourselves to showcase our love of broadcasting and presenting in a totally new way from the podcast, as the radio show involves music, live interaction with listeners and live on air challenges between us both, which listeners are getting more and more involved in.

“The challenges, also filmed, are put on our Instagram page @ballyandmike with fans of the show getting involved each week with ideas for the following week. Already we have given our small platform to new music talents from the West Midlands, and urge others to get in touch if they want to showcase their new music.”

“We also hope the show gives some humour, light relief and an escape from the current lockdown measures. Our show prides itself on playing upbeat music from the very start and for three hours, we laugh, share funny stories and play requests as we get listeners to tweet, text and call in live to the studio.

“Recently, with Halloween plans being scrapped due to lockdown, we held a virtual Halloween party where we got listeners to send in their throwback costume and make up pictures and whilst in the studio, we played games of Trick and Treat, much to the delight and humour of the listeners,” added Mike, 32, who works in finance.

People can listen to the show each and every Saturday from 10am until 1pm on Gorgeous FM which is live across Wolverhampton, Birmingham, The Black Country and Shropshire on DAB. It can also be found online, by asking your smart speaker to “play gorgeous fm” or by downloading the brand new app available now on iTunes and Android app stores.
