Dudley Little Theatre will entertain families until Sundaywith their show Old Mother Hubbard.

The pantomime tells the story of Old Mother Hubbard who runs a home for lost nursery rhyme children and times are lean. A lonely dog asks for shelter and she can barely afford to take him in – and things get worse then the bailiff and rent collector evict her on Christmas Eve.

Fleeing with her children – and dog – to the nearby forest, the group encounter a hapless magician and his dancing camel, a cat with a grudge against children and a well full of secrets.

A spokesman for Dudley Little Theatre said: "Rehearsals for Old Mother Hubbard began in early October and have been great fun for the 14-strong cast and two directors.

"In addition to the standard rehearsals we have been holding weekly singing rehearsals for the many catchy and toe-tapping songs that feature in the production, especially written by our resident composer and musical director."

Old Mother Hubbard will be performed at Netherton Arts Centre, in Northfield Road, on Saturday and Sunday. There will be an extra matinee performance on Saturday and a matinee only on Sunday.

The evening performances start at 7.30pm, while matinees start at 2.30pm.

Tickets are £10 on the door, or can be reserved by calling 01384 872583, 07582 318017 or 07954 424555.
