Residents and schoolchildren turned up to the church grounds on Saturday afternoon to browse stalls, buy a raffle ticket, and enjoy refreshments at the church in Blackhalve Lane, Wednesfield.

The fair was held to raise money for the church and provide a day of entertainment for local residents.

One organiser Kathleen Nock said: "A great afternoon was had by all at St Gregory the Great annual summer fete.

"As well as a good array of refreshments there were tombolas and a variety of stalls.

"For me, the highlight of the afternoon was Linzi G School of Dance performing various dance routines and singing songs from the hit film The Greatest Showman."

The marching band of St Gregory's school also entertained crowds with their uplifting music.

Overall, the event raised about £1,000 for the church.
