‘Diddy’ David Hamilton is to perform in show ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Back The Years’ on Thursday October 19 at the Prince of Wales Theatre, Cannock.

The show takes the audience on a swinging journey back to the 1950s and ‘60s – the golden decades of classic pop – and features live performances of arguably the best music ever made.

The songs come courtesy of The Fugitives, one of Britain’s top nostalgia groups, along with glamorous duo the Tiffany Girls and vocalist Ash Denver. Together, they perform hits made famous by stars such as Elvis, Cliff and The Shadows, Dusty Springfield, The Beatles, Cilla Black, The Monkees, The Supremes, Roy Orbison, Connie Francis, The Everly Brothers and many more.

A regular host of TV’s ‘Top Of The Pops’, David has appeared on more than 1,000 TV shows and presented more than 12,000 radio shows for BBC and commercial stations. In the 1970s his BBC Radio 2 afternoon programme drew the biggest audiences of the day.

He has compered live concerts by The Beatles and The Rolling Stones and will be telling stories about his life in show business and the stars he has met.

“I’m really thrilled to be doing the show for a second year,” says David, who acquired his ‘Diddy’ nickname when playing comedian Ken Dodd’s straight man in a 1960s TV series. “The band and the singers are absolutely brilliant. We did a 40-date tour in 2016 that was so enjoyable we couldn’t wait to do it again.

“The aim is simply to give our audiences a memorable night of nostalgia, humour and some of the best music ever made. I can’t think of anything better.”

The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets are available from the box office on 01543 578762.
