The historic Staffordshire attraction, near Cannock Chase, went up against Old Joint Stock, in Birmingham, East Midlands Trains, and the Royal Derby Hospital in the contest launched by MyGlazing.com - an independent free consumer advice site.

Shugborough Hall will now go against finalists from 10 other areas across the country for the title of the UK's Best Window with a View.

The current champion is Liverpool Museum.

The 2017 winner will be decided via an online vote at MyGlazing.com/WWAV which will be open until September 30.

James Lee, director of marketing at MyGlazing.com, said: "We’d like to say a huge congratulations to Shugborough Hall for being voted the Midland’s best Window with a View.

"It truly is a great feat given the standard of entries we received this year.

“It’s going to be an exciting couple of months, seeing which regional winner secures the title of the UK’s Best Window with a View.

"We wish Shugborough Hall the best of luck in the national vote and urge people in the Midland’s to support them.”

Shugborough Hall, within Shugborough Estate, opened earlier this year for the first time since being taken over by the National Trust.

While the charity has owned the site for decades, Staffordshire County County had been running it on their behalf for around 50 years until last November.

The agreement will see £20.5m invested in improving and maintaining the attraction for the next three years, while the trust has ambitiously vowed to treble visitor numbers in the next decade.
