The multi-sensory area will be called Giggly Park will be officially opened this summer.

It will feature a rare creature from the Australian outback and other special characters and has been created specially to appeal to young visitors.

Children will be able to find CBeebies favourite Boj and his friends, while exploring and taking part in play in the different interactive zones, designed specifically for young visitors.

The play area is being themed around the CBeebies favourite character and is being created next to the African Village at the Safari Park.

Boj is a rare burrowing bilby from the Australian outback, created by Pesky Productions, who have been heavily involved in the project.

The different zones being created for the play area will feature other characters from the show, such as Mia, Mr Cloppity and Denzel with various activities and objects for youngsters to explore.

Neil James, the park's project manager, said, “This has been a really exciting and challenging project to work on and something that is completely different to our current attractions around site.

"We really embraced the up-cycling philosophies of Boj and his friends throughout the design and build to give an immersive experience for our younger explorers.

"Giggly Park has really come to life here at West Midland Safari Park.”

The new children's play area will be included in park’s standard admission charge of £23 for adults, £18 for children aged three to15-years-old and £21 for concessions.

Children under three-years-old are admitted free.

Admission includes a voucher for a return visit or safari gift and Adventure Theme Park rides are charged extra.
