Graeme Brookes, who was born and bred in Walsall before moving to Burntwood, will perform in the award-winning production of Invincible by the Original Theatre Company at Lichfield Garrick Theatre from March 21.

He stars as Alan – the football mad, beer drinking postman with a big heart. And following on from the national UK tour, Graeme will be reprising the role across the Atlantic.

Invincible will be performed at the 13th annual Brits Off Broadway Festival on June 1 and 2.

Memories

Ahead of the show, the actor has spoken of his memories of growing up in the region.

"It will be nice going to the Garrick in my own right and not covered in paint."

As a jobbing actor, Graeme did whatever he could to make ends meet and worked in Lichfield as a car park attendant at Tesco and a painter and decorator.

The actor will be returning to his home county to delight local audiences, including family and friends who have yet to see him perform professionally.

From one of the most exciting playwrights to emerge since Alan Aykbourn, Torben Betts' production has been hailed as 'simply superb' and one not to be missed.

Invincible plays at the Lichfield Garrick from March 21 to 25.

Tickets are from £22.50 and can be booked online at www.lichfieldgar rick.com or by calling 01543 412121.
