The four Bornean apes from the zoo will feature in a calendar in aid of the Orangutan Foundation.

The charity works to conserve threatened orangutans and their habitat in the tropical forests of Borneo and Sumatra.

The photos of the four apes, Jazz, Sprout, Benji and Jorong, are taken by 23-year-old amateur photographer Hollie Gordon.

Hollie, from Blackpool, said: "I decided to do the calendar because I love orangutans and wanted to something to try and raise money for a charity who support them.

"Dudley Zoo's four orangutans are such characters that they are more than worthy to be ambassadors for their species."

The A4-sized calendars are priced at £10 plus £2 postage.

Dudley council has recently secured more than £15 million to improve the layout, parking, entrance and exits at the zoo.

Rachel Hickman, media and communications officer at Dudley Zoo, said: "We were delight to hear Hollie was including Dudley Zoo's four charismatic orangutans in her calendar.

"We're keen to support the fantastic work of the Orangutan Foundation and earlier this year we sent off £500 ourselves to the charity from on-site fundraising efforts for World Orangutan Day.

"We wish the calendar every success and hope it makes lots of money for a great cause."

The calendars can be purchaed through Hollie Gordon Photography on Facebook or via holliegordonphotography@outlook.com.

All the profits will be going to The Orangutan Foundation to help safeguard three areas of a critical orangutan habitat in Borneo.
